We had a bit of time on our hands over the last week or so. During that time, we came up with a funny concept for our new SEO infographic. You can take a look in just a moment. After being in the industry for many years, we noticed that many clients can be grouped together into four categories. While we don’t want to offend anyone, reading about them might help to encourage SEO clients to think ahead.
Some clients have what we like to call keyword vanity disorder. That is a terrible condition that affects the brain. It makes people far too obsessive about the work we perform. It also encourages them to spend too much time focusing on a single phrase or term. We know that’s not a good idea, but try telling them that.
Every so often, we come across the know it all client. While he is a rare breed, he calls our phone after placing an order and tries to offer advice. Contrary to popular belief, we didn’t build a successful SEO brand without becoming experts in our field. We already know everything you’re going to say.
SEO dependent clients can be very stressful. They seem to think that SEO is responsible for everything in their business. If sales drop, it must be SEO! If orders decrease, it must be SEO! If their company premises gets raided by the police, it must be SEO! Give it a rest.
Luckily, most of the people optimisation specialists work with today are perfect SEO clients. They understand that we know what we’re doing, and we need time to get things done. They ask questions at the right time, and then leave us to work our magic.
